MEMBERS of Bude RATs competed in the final two events of the Cornish Multi-Terrain Race Series in June.

First up was the Truro Trail 10K trail run on Wednesday, June 19, the penultimate race of the 2023/24 calendar.

Stephen Hutchinson was the only Bude member to take part, but his time of one hour, three minutes and 10 seconds was enough for second in the M70-74 category.

The final race, the newly-introduced Gribbin 10K takes place on land two miles to the west of Fowey and provided runners with a challenging course full of hills, hazards and much more.

Both Hutchinson (1:02:54) and fellow Bude RAT Jeremy Brown (48:11) were third in their age group, Brown in the M50-54 section.

Jeremy’s wife Suzanne also completed the course in 1:11:54.

However, the nine-race 2024/25 series gets underway with the Tywardreath Trotter seven-mile event near St Austell on Saturday, July 27.
