LAUNCESTON Football Club’s first team pre-season schedule has been announced.

The Clarets get their five-game programme underway on Saturday, July 6 with a trip up to North Devon to tackle Torrington from SWPL Premier East.

Kick-off is now at 1pm due to England’s Euro 2024 quarter-final with Switzerland which gets underway at 5pm.

Next Saturday sees Neil Price’s men go to East Devon to tackle Torrington’s league rivals Sidmouth Town (3pm).

Sidmouth were mid-table last year and will provide a good test for the Clarets.

The quality of opposition then increases significantly in the final six days.

Saturday, July 20 sees old SWPL colleagues Helston Athletic come to Pennygillam for a 3pm kick-off, although the Blues are now preparing for their first ever season at Step Four having won the Western League Premier Division title last term.

Ilfracombe Town, opponents of Helston last season, head down from North Devon on Tuesday, July 23 (7.30pm), before Mousehole, who reached the play-offs in Southern League Division One last season, provide the final test before Launceston’s SWPL Premier West opener at Penzance on August 3, on Friday, July 26 (7.30pm).
