KENSEY Vale Bowling Club held their 60th annual dinner and presentation day at the clubhouse on Sunday, September 29.
A three-course roast lunch was provided by Marcia Vanstone and thoughtfully enjoyed by the 55 members and guests present.
Club president, Mr Ed Blowey made the opening speech talking about his theme, the wonderful game of bowls and the enjoyment all age groups derived from it.
The response was made by club captain Alex Crichton who went on to say how much he had enjoyed being in office and went on to congratulate the club teams and individuals on their achievements during the past season.
The presentations of trophies were made to the winners of the various competitions by the president’s wife Elizabeth Blowey, and were as follows:
Mens section

In the 2019 county competitions, North East division, the club members won several trophies, including the following:
Mens Pairs — Nick Trewin and Peter Gilbert; Runners-up — Andy Jiggens and Karl Barrett; Two Wood Singles — Peter Gilbert; Mixed Pairs — Marion Bartlett and Nick Trewin; Runners-up — Mavis and Andy Jiggens.
Mixed Triple Winners — Nicola Gilbert, Bernie Dyer and Peter Gilbert; Mixed Fours — Margaret Perkin, Nicola Gilbert, Bernie Dyer and Nick Trewin.
Also, the club’s Millennium team not only won the divisional cup but went on to win the county trophy for the first time in the competition’s 20-year history.
The ladies also had great success at divisional level as they won the Date competition. They were also runners-up in the triples in the form of Ann Head, Penny Leaver and Marion Bartlett.
Marion also won the Over 55 Singles and competed in the Two Wood Singles.
She not only won the group but went on to win the county tournament and travelled to Leamington in Warwickshire to represent Cornwall in the nationals.
