DUNHEVED Bowls Club reopened their green for the 2025 season on Saturday, April 12. Club president Peter Vernon welcomed everyone back and wished them all good luck and success for the upcoming year.
As the Mayor Helen Bailey was away on official business, her husband Adrian Bailey kindly attended the opening day to roll the first wood of the season.
Although the weather wasn't in their favour, members headed out for a roll up, glad to be back playing again after the winter break.

They were joined by Mr Bailey, who along with his friend John Whiting, took the opportunity to play their first game of bowls. The afternoon was rounded off with a much-enjoyed faith tea and refreshments from the bar.
If anyone would like to give bowls a go, or just join as a social member, the club is open Tuesday afternoons from 2pm and Friday evenings from 6pm.
It is located behind Launceston Hospital with access through the car park. On Fridays the bar is always open and it becomes a friendly place to socialise and meet new people.
Dunheved are also holding a bowls taster day on Saturday, April 26, from 10am to 4pm.
A club spokesperson said: “Everyone is welcome to come along, it is a great sport for all ages. Popularity amongst younger players has grown a lot in recent years and children and young adults are encouraged to give it a go.
“There will be plenty of members there on the day to show you the ropes so all you need to bring are some flat shoes or trainers as all of the other equipment will be provided for you.”
