DUNHEVED Bowling Club’s annual lunch and presentation of trophies took place at Launceston Golf Club on Sunday, November 4, with 58 in attendance.
The special guests this year were Bowls Cornwall administrator Christine Hore, president Peter Prynne and Kensey Vale president Ed Blowey.
Gordon Littlejohns proposed a toast to Bowls Cornwall. During his speech he mentioned about how successful Cornwall had been this year, in particular at the National Finals at Leamington Spa.
Dunheved under 18 player Keiron Sargent had a great year being a regular player in the under 25 county squad, and the two rink also.
Gordon went on to say that while travelling around as the vice-president, it was mentioned on many occasions how the county president was doing a fantastic job and is a true ambassador for the game of bowls.
The following speeches also echoed he was very popular wherever he went. Christine Hore also mentioned in her speech that Peter had supported the ladies and men equally and was a great president with plenty of laughs along the way.
President of Dunheved, Judith Prynne, said that the club coped very well with the extra county games this year and the parking was well managed and successful. She thanked all those who helped over the two days of finals, which was a great success played on an excellent green. All the national finalists were very pleased and had no complaints.
Judith thanked Launceston Golf Club for an excellent carvery (well applauded) she thanked Eric Doidge and helpers for the draw, and passed over to the county president Peter along with Ed Blowey, who presented the trophies.

After the presentation finished, county president Peter thanked everyone for their support through the year and was a very proud president, while flowers were presented to Ed Blowey, his wife Liz and Christine Hore.
