KENSEY Vale Bowling Club held their 57th annual presentation evening at the White Hart Hotel in Launceston recently.
After president, Dawn Addis, welcomed the guests, the president of Bowls Cornwall, Mr Tom Reid, and his wife, the president of Dunheved Bowling Club, Mr Brian Keighley and his wife and the representative of the sponsors, Maddaford Funeral Services, Dave Dobson and his wife.
Following that a toast was made to Bowls Cornwall before the winners were announced. They were as follows:

The William Harding Shield was presented to Steve Bird as the most improved player.
The Ladies’ section trophies were presented by Mrs Joyce Reid.

IN?THE short mat competitions, both the Rinks League and the Triples League were won by Whickers World, Dyer Straits won the handicap rinks and the Jack Highs emerged victorious in the Handicap Triples.
Other notable achievements during the season were in Group Two where Alex Crichton won the Unbadged Singles and went on to win the competition at the County Finals, thus earning his badge.
The Captains Shield team, comprising Bernie Dyer, Ivor Barber, Nick Trewin and Steve Maiden, did the same by winning both at group and county level.
Success was also achieved at group level by Mixed Pairs winners Jean Horrell and Nick Trewin and winners of the fours, Margaret Perkin, Nicola Gilbert, Bernie Dyer and Nick Trewin.
The East Cornwall League competitions played over the season saw Tony Salter and Roy Lane victorious in the Spencer Davy Pairs with Ed Blowey Tony Salter and Roy Lane winning the Couch Triples, as they beat another Kensey Vale triple comprising Ray Williams Alex Crichton and Steve Maiden in the final.
The ladies’ had their own winners in the North East, winning the Date Cup as a team. Marion Bartlett won the Four Wood Singles and the Kernow Cup, Nicola Gilbert the Over 55 Singles and the four ladies who won the Group 2 fours, Jennie Dyer Margaret Perkin Jean Wilkins and Nicola Gilbert, went on to win at the County Final.
All in all, another extremely exciting season for the club who will look to continue their success again next year.
