A couple walking along High Street in Ross-on-Wye on Saturday, June 20th, had a lucky escape when a brick fell from the council offices and narrowly missed them.

The brick fell from the second storey of the building at 6pm and narrowly missed the man and woman walking past.

The pair alerted the police from the Kings Head hotel, and the pavement in that part of High Street was shut by the county council and Herefordshire Fire Service.

Local resident Peter Martin was at the scene at the time, and told the Ross Gazette: "It came down with a hell of a clatter, it could have been really dangerous."
