Whitland 42 pts. Ammanford 24

The Borderers finished their season with a fine victory over Ammanford at Parc Llwyn Ty Gwyn on Saturday, on a special day for veteran second row Dai Ebsworth and winger Fraser Watson, who led the hosts out on what was the final game for both Whitland players.

The visitors opened the scoring when flanker Sion James crossed in the first minute, but Whitland soon took control of the game with No 10 Steffan James kicking a penalty, and winger Sean Coles scoring a try in the corner.

Ammanford struck back with an unconverted try from scrum-half Aled James, but Whitland hooker Marc Jones crossed for another try, converted by James.

Borderers flanker Ben Kirk then scored his first senior try for his side, with James again kicking the extras, but Ammanford struck back again just before half-time through a converted try from second row Liam Barker, to make the score 22-17 in Whitland's favour going into the interval.

After the break, the Borderers pulled away through a penalty from James, and two quick tries from centre Jonathan Thomas.

Fullback Scott Newton added a further try after an interception and James another conversion to leave the hosts with a comfortable lead, despite Ammanford fullback James Owens crossing for a late converted try.
