THE first Saturday in the South West Peninsula League season is now just ten days away and clubs are fine-tuning their squads ahead of the start.

In this week’s Post we hear from Camelford boss Reg Hambly as the Camels hope to improve on last season’s mid-table finish, while there are reports and summaries from across the local friendlies.

There is also a piece on the fixtures being announced in the new St Piran League structure, from the Premier Division East to Division Four East.

It’s not often you get an entire washout across the whole of the county during the Cornwall Cricket League campaign, but that was the case on Saturday.

However Sunday saw Callington Thirds regain the Rosevear Cup at St Stephen and Werrington Fourths beat Roche Thirds by six wickets in a rearranged clash in Division Five East.

Bude RFC announced the appointment of Joe Wilson as their new head coach last week, and we hear from the 31-year-old on the role.
