CHRISTMAS and new year means plenty of local football, and that features heavily in this week’s Post sports section.

There is David Sillifant’s match report from Bude Town’s 1-0 victory over Holsworthy in the SWPL Premier West Boxing Day derby which came courtesy of Kyle Darragh, plus the thoughts of the respective managers, Ben Potter (Bude) and Ryan Hall (Holsworthy).

The same day saw a five-goal thriller at Callington Town as Andy Watkins’ late goal gave Launceston the points, and we get Nigel Walrond’s take from the game.

Bude were back in action just three days later when they visited Camelford in the Atlantic Highway Derby.

The Camels eventually ran out 3-0 winners in a hotly-contested game thanks to goals from Mark Gusterson, Sam Wade and Shae Cardiff, and it is covered on the back.
