LOCAL trainer, Michael Scudamore, was thrilled this Saturday, when one of his horses, Monbeg Dude, came in at third place at the Grand National, on Saturday, April 11th.
10-year old Monbeg Dude is trained by Mr Scudamore at Eccleshall Court, in Bromsash, near Lea. Mr Scudamore has had a fantastic racing year, with another of his horses, eight-year-old Next Sensation, winning at Cheltenham in March. "It's so great having two different horses do well," Mr Scudamore told the Ross Gazette, "It just shows the training I do is working."
The odds on Monbeg were placed at 40/1 on Saturday, at Aintree. In 2014, Monbeg came in at seventh place during the Grand National, and this year has gone on to achieve an even better result. Full report in this week's Gazette.
