In the second round of the Thomas Scourfield and Sons Harrison-Allen Bowl Cresselly had a thrilling six wickets win at home to Haverfordwest, to avenge their league defeat the previous Saturday.
The Town were held to a below par total of 137-6, despite having been 22 without loss following the first two overs.
Ben Field had an attractive innings of 31 but David Davies gave the total a much needed boost with an undefeated innings of 46.
All of the Cresselly bowlers and fielders played thie part in restricting the free scoring Harfat batsmen. Spinners Ryan Lewis and Mike Shaw kept the runs in check, with Lewis finishing with a return of 2-26.
After a sluggish start, the Cresselly batsmen were within touching distance of the necessary run rate.
Stylish left-hander Simon Cole scored 36 and Brad McDermott Jenkins scored a quick 26. Iwan Izzard proved to be the Cresselly hero with a superb innings of 53 before being caught by Clive Tucker off left-arm spinner Simon Holiday with just four runs needed to win.
Three sixes in one late over by Iwan Izzard put the hosts ahead of the run rate and Cresselly booked a place in the Quarter-finals.
At Carew, the visitors St Ishmaels were bowled d out for 113 with two balls of their innings left.
Andrew Williams tried to hold things together in a fine innings of 49no and opener Peter Bradshaw scored 29.
An excellent all round display in the field by Carew prevented any of the other batsmen from making an impact on proceedings. No less than five Tish batsmen failed to score, as Tom Davies took 4-27, Rob Scourfield 2-32 and leg-spinner Ceri Brace 3-23.
The hosts were in a spot of bother at 32-3 from seven overs, but Tom Davies followed up his penetrative bowling stint with a match winning innings of 41no with seven fours.
He received the right level of support from Lewis Hicks with 26 and Nick Scourfield with 15no as Carew won by six wickets upon reaching a total of 115-4.
Whitland had a comfortable nine wickets win away to Pembroke.
The Second Division side were dismissed for 84 as Daniel James took 5-25 and the experienced Mark Lee took 4-22.
The pair ran though the Pembroke batting line-up as the only resistance came from Barry Evans with 21, Billy Wood with 16no and Paul White with 15.
Pembroke's total was at least 50 runs short of setting Whitland a meaningful challenge and the visitors reached a winning total of 88-1 without difficulty.
Kevin Pearce scored 40no with seven fours and polished left hander Paul Davies kept watch at the other end with 29no.
Johnston had a nine wickets win away to Camrose and Spittal, after restricting the Third Division side to a total of 99-6.
Martin James top scored for the hosts with 35 and Steve Mills picked up 2-12 for the visitors,
Steve Mills with 42no and Mikey Jones with 40no cantered to a winning total of 103-1.
Kilgetty lost by 36 runs away to Second Division rivals Burton after only mustering a total of 123-7 chasing Burton's total of 159-7.
Jack Davies with 38 and George Williams with 33 were the leading runs scorers for the hosts as Kyle Marsh took 2-15 and spinner Toby Poole 2-33.
Although Ross Hardy led the victory bid with 31 and Jack Parkinson had scored 23 before being run out, it was left to skipper Ian Poole to keep Kilgetty in the game with an undefeated innings of 23.
Unfortunately he ran out of run scoring partners as wickets fell to Jack Davies in a devastating 6-31 spell, backed up by James Davies with a return of 2-23.
Third Division Crymych were bowled out for 70 away to First Division Llangwm as Matthew Kiff took 5-17 with Phil Llewellyn and Richard Brock collecting a brace of wickets apiece.
Richard Thorne provided the only real resistance in a fighting knock of 36.
In reply, Will Beresford scored 43no to take Llangwm to a 10 wickets win with the help of 23 extras.
Stackpole suffered a massive 172 runs defeat away to First Division giants Neyland, as the visitors chased an impregnable 236-2 scoreline in vain.
Narberth rugby player Ashley Sutton scored 121 for Neyland supported by Gregg Miller with 52 and Nick Koomen with 39.
Lewys Gibby scored almost half of his side's total in an innings of 31, as Stackpole were bundled out for 64 as Andrew Miller took 5-9 and Nathan Banner 2-19.
Lawrenny had an impressive 63 runs win over First Division rivals Llanrhian who were bowled out for 113 in response to a Lawrenny total of 176-7.
Simon Cole and Andrew Cole had an opening partnership of 95 with Simon Cole finding the boundary seven times and clearing it once in his innings of 52 and Andrew Cole hitting three sixes and three fours in his solid knock of 41.
Steve Lewis was the ideal batsmen to build on a form base in his aggressive innings of 44, which included three sixes and five fours.
Gareth Davies, Dominic Wright and Jack Jones each had a brace of wickets for the visitors.
Although Paul Lewis scored 30, Dominic Wright 24 and Matthew Bennett 20 wickets fell at regular intervals in the abortive runs chase.
Jamie Lewis returned to the Lawrenny Club after a brief sojourn with Cresselly to take 4-29 and the in form Alistair Edwards took 5-19 coming on as second change.
