ALL five Post area clubs are in action tomorrow in SWPL Premier West.
Launceston – on a four-match winning run – visit title-chasing St Austell whose own hopes were boosted by leaders Liskeard Athletic being held to a 2-2 draw at Bude Town last Saturday.
The Clarets have seen off Bodmin Town, Wadebridge Town, Callington Town and Camelford, the last of which was a 2-0 victory to move well clear of the bottom two, but will be tested far more at a side that reached the last four of the Cornwall Senior Cup on Wednesday night by knocking out Western League high-flyers and defending champions, Helston Athletic.
However, as Neil Price said following the Camelford win, the Clarets can go there with no pressure.
Camelford host Newquay as both teams look to bounce back from defeats.
While the Camels were being beaten at Pennygillam last weekend, Newquay were surprisingly defeated 3-1 by mid-table Callington Town at Mount Wise.
However the Peppermints are enjoying a good season and are challenging Wadebridge Town, Dobwalls and Wendron United for third.
Camelford are seventh, but with just ten games left, need to pick up regular points to stay up and around there.
They are able to welcome back skipper Charlie Hambly and right-back Tom Crowe following suspension.
Callington’s hopes of finishing higher will depend on winning at places like Dobwalls who are fourth, albeit having played more games than their challengers.
The Dingos eased past St Dennis 3-0 at Lantoom Park last weekend thanks to a hat-trick from Oscar Larrieu, son of Plymouth Argyle legend Romain who was in attendance alongside legendary Pilgrims boss Paul Sturrock.
Cally have been excellent on their travels and Dobwalls are solid at Lantoom Park, so something has to give.
Bude Town produced arguably the result of the weekend last Saturday as they held leaders Liskeard Athletic, but the Seasiders have the longest journey of their season to contend with when they head down to Mullion.
Bude’s away form recently has been poor, but the Seagulls are struggling themselves.
The Seasiders won 4-2 last year at Clifden Parc, and would snap your hand off for a fourth away win of the season.
Holsworthy’s stuttering season in terms of playing games has continued in recent weeks, having played just once since November 11 at Mullion.
That said, the Magpies remain eighth and still have half of their fixtures to play, starting with a visit from bottom side St Dennis on Saturday (2.15pm).
However the Clay Country side have a new look about them in terms of personnel and could start climbing the table in the coming weeks.
2pm kick-off: Truro City Reserves v Bodmin Town.
2.15pm kick-off: Holsworthy v St Dennis.
3pm kick-offs: Camelford v Newquay, Dobwalls v Callington Town, Mullion v Bude Town, Penzance v Liskeard Athletic, St Austell v Launceston.
