ALL eyes will be on Upcott Field later when league leaders Liskeard Athletic are the visitors to Holsworthy in SWPL Premier West (2.15pm).
The title-chasing Blues have 52 points from a possible 54 and have scored 87 goals in the process, and look destined to be playing Western League football come August.
Holsworthy, who are enjoying a good season of their own in seventh having been transferred from the Premier East division, haven’t played since beating Mullion 3-1 back on November 11.
When the two sides met at Lux Park back in August, Liskeard took the Magpies to the cleaners in an 8-0 victory.
However, Upcott Field’s small tight pitch, which is also on a slope, can be a leveller, so the visitors will have to be at their best to return to East Cornwall with all three points.
Liskeard will hope Callington can do them a favour when they visit St Austell.
The Saints, who are second, are 12 points behind the leaders with two games in-hand, and as well as having to be practically perfect to have any chance, will hope for favours.
Cally are solidly in mid-table in ninth and picked up a point at Penzance last weekend in a 2-2 draw.
Launceston grabbed a much-needed 6-0 home victory over Bodmin Town on Saturday to leapfrog their opponents into fourth bottom, and they can move up another place if they see off Mullion at Pennygillam.
The Clarets won the reverse fixture back in August, and are showing signs that their homegrown policy is starting to pay off.
Camelford were beaten 3-0 at Wadebridge Town in the River Camel Derby last weekend and will back themselves to return to winning ways in their final outing before Christmas.
They welcome Truro City Reserves to Trefrew Park, a side they lost to earlier in the season.
Both sides have been inconsistent, but Camelford, who are eighth, will back themselves to be too strong on home turf for the White Tigers youngsters.
Bude Town have also been up and down.
The Seasiders score plenty and concede just as many, but are tenth.
They will start as favourites against bottom side St Dennis, but the Clay Country outfit have recruited some players in recent weeks, and will hope to start clawing back the gap towards Sticker and the rest of the strugglers.
