Bude Town 4 Truro City Reserves 1
BUDE Town rounded off their home season with a comfortable 4-1 victory over Truro City Reserves at Broadclose Park on Bank Holiday Monday.
The afternoon was one for the kids, and before the match Tornado Bello arranged a warm-up training session with themascots, Bude Under 11s.
From Good Friday’s draw at Holsworthy, there were recalls for Liam McDonald and Scott Sanders in defence, while in an attacking sense, there were starts for Tre Davey, Carlo Chandler and Noah Maund.
Bude started brightly and Davey put them one ahead just six minutes in following work down the left.
The visitors were soon on level terms when an uncharacteristic slip by Liam Hill let in the Truro attack to equalise.
However, Cole Harford put the hosts ahead, and following more good work down the left, Noah Maund scored a fine individual goal to make it 3-1.
Hill was on hand to make a number of fine saves, including a dive to his right, which saw the ball tipped past the post.
Just before half-time Bude put the game to bed when a rasping drive by Harry Hopcroft hit the post, but Sanders was on hand to put the rebound in.
The second half was not as entertaining goal wise.
The visitors certainly had their chances, but were unable to find a way through, including Sam Down stopping one on the line.
At the other end, the young Truro keeper made some fine saves and a number of close calls went past the post, but Bude had to settle for four.
