SWPL PREMIER WEST (SATURDAY)

Bude Town 3 Truro City Reserves 0

ROCCO Dyer scored twice as Bude Town picked up their first home win of the season with an emphatic 3-0 success at Broadclose Park.

A large crowd of 166 was in attendance, and the majority of those went home happy.

Bude started brightly, controlling possession and found a breakthrough in the 9th minute when George Harvey brought the ball down, held his marker off and played a pinpoint through ball to Rocco Dyer who raced clear and finished into the bottom left corner.

The rest of the half was fairly even, Bude finding lots of space behind the fullbacks but the crosses coming in weren’t finding the finish. Truro had a couple of chances, one saved by Ty Rowe at his near post and a couple of direct free kicks which were blocked and cleared.

Bude then went up another in the second half and were on top throughout.

Man of the match Dyer gathered the ball out wide and come inside, played in George Harvey who smashed the ball into the far right of the goal on 52 minutes.

The third goal saw sub Corey Gilbert beat his man and dig out a beautiful cross which was met at the far post by Rocco Dyer who headed home with 12 minutes to play.

Reflecting on the game, Town boss Steve Hackett told the Post: “It was a fantastic team performance full of grit, work-rate and determination, and I’m proud that on Saturday we got what we deserved as in other games previously we haven’t got the results that our performances have warranted.”
