THE Seasiders were knocked out of the Cornwall Colts Cup on Saturday in the last eight as the combined force of Penryn and Perranporth ran out 19-12 winners at Bencoolen Meadow.

Both teams showcased their strengths in an engaging match, with Bude exhibiting dominance in the forward pack, while Penryn and Perranporth demonstrated finesse through their backline play.

The match commenced with the visitors establishing an early lead through a well-executed converted try, setting the pace for an exciting game.

The Seasiders responded with tenacity as No.8 Sam Vickery powered through the defence to score their opening try, which Albie Newton successfully converted, bringing the score level.

As the first half continued, Penryn and Perranporth regained their lead with another converted try. The half-time whistle blew with the visitors ahead 14-7, setting the stage for an intense second half.

The second half saw a fierce battle, with both teams displaying commendable resolve.

Penryn & Perranporth extended their advantage with a third try; however, the conversion attempt went astray, leaving the score at 19-7.

Determined to close the gap, Bude mounted pressure, leading to Vickery crossing the line for his second score of the afternoon. The conversion, however, was missed, leaving the score at 19-12.

Despite their efforts, Bude couldn't bridge the gap, and as the final whistle sounded, the visitors emerged victorious in a closely-fought contest.

The match highlighted the competitive spirit and skill of both sides, making it a memorable game for all in attendance.
