CAMELFORD RFC are building up to the start of their tenth anniversary season on Saturday with some excellent training sessions under the stewardship of new coach Tyrone Jordaan.
Last Tuesday (August 21) they ventured down to Bodmin RFC to trial new drills and plays against some very competent and strong opposition.
This was the perfect preparation for their impending visit to Redruth Albany in the RFU Senior Vase.
The players and coach have an opportunity to build on what was viewed in the trial and know that there is still some work to do.
Most importantly for Camelford, they will be starting the season with a decent number of players as 21 turned up for the trial and a few more were absent due to holidays.
The numbers reflect returning stalwarts, Pete Thorne and Stuart Roach as well as new recruits, Rhys Welch, Ian Boundy and Sam Rogers.
Club president, Nic Osborne, said: “At this point in the close season the club is delighted with the progress being made, but we are of course always looking for new players, spectators and volunteers.
“As our anniversary celebrations come to the fore, the club hopes to be a competitive force in Tribute Division Two and will push to get promotion.”
