YEAR 11 Budehaven student, Chae Jenkins, has had a busy rugby season.
As Captain of his club team — Launceston — where he has been for five seasons, with the club gaining two cups this year, Chae has also been training monthly with the Cornwall U16s and played in several matches — the last one being in April at Bodmin for Cornwall U17s against cup winners, Truro.
Chae got selected for Exeter Chiefs in January 2014 and has trained mainly weekly at Sandy Park since. He was selected to play in many games and tournaments such as Cleeve, Bristol, Warrick, Wellington and Wales at the home of Newport Gwent Dragons, as well as playing at the home pitch of Sandy Park.
At the end of March, for one week, Chae travelled with the Chiefs to the U16s Wellington Festival in Warwickshire for the England trials where he achieved over 100 minutes of game time as well as ‘starting prop’ in their 12 – 5 win over Wasps in the final.
Chae is due to start Truro College in September where he will also be part of the Rugby Academy and continue to train for Exeter Chiefs.
