BUDE Minis and Juniors recently gathered together in a marquee kindly provided by Harpers Feed at Bencoolen Meadow to celebrate the 2016/17 season.

The coaches from each age group took in turns and awarded ‘Best Player’, ‘Most Improved’ and a new award ‘Core Value Player’ voted by the players. This was for demonstrating over the season rugby’s five core values — teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline and sportsmanship.

These players were: James Herzog, Dylan Morgan, Finlay Cackett, Alfie Harwood, Charlie Prout, James Fenwick and Seb Cackett.

Under 7s — Jake Byrne; Under 8s —Lucas Bisby; Under 9s — Edward White; U10s — Lucas Cackett; Under 11s — Barney Nancekivell; Under 12s — Ethan Gregory; Under 13s — Lewis Jones; Under 14s — Sam Jago

Most Improved: Players: Under 7s?— Josh Thomas; Under 8s — Sam Linney; Under 9s — Finley Wilson; Under 10s — Matt Gregory; Under 11s — Keeley Cann; Under 12s — Tim Denford; Under 13s — Ben Lovejoy; Under 14s — Cameron Young

The Under 7s up to Under 11s were awarded a participation medal while the Under 12s and 13s were given a club tie.

The evening ended with food, music, touch rugby and all players having fun.

Next season begins with registration at Bude RFC on Sunday, September 3 at 11am. All new players and members are welcome.
