Ross-on-Wye Rowing Club's talented members, both senior and junior, were in action last weekend and delivered some superb performances in Nottingham and Monmouth.
The junior rowers were first up at the National Schools' Regatta at Nottingham, the premier rowing event for juniors at which 4500 competitors, from no less than 160 clubs and schools battle it out for the most treasured medals in junior rowing in Great Britain.
On Friday, the WJ14 2x of Elsa Sykes and Harley Kernot qualified for their semi final and achieved a comfortable third place which meant they had made it to the final. In this race they rowed strongly and came sixth overall: an impressive result which bodes well for their future.
On Saturday the WJ15 8 delivered a fantastic time trial to earn them one of the favoured lanes in their semi final. Up against some of the big school programmes it was Ross and their old adversaries from LEH that took the first two places and moved through to the final.
