The concept of establishing a rugby club for Camelford was first put forward at a meeting in the Mason's Arms in 2006, but it wasn't until around two years later, in June 2008, following discussions held at Sir James Smith's School, that the concrete decision to form a squad was made.
Supported by Nic Osborne, Dave Clarke, Keith Lovegrove, Ian Elford, Jon Ponting, Ray Cole, Pam Cole, Alison Osborne, Dave Lamb and Dave Salisbury, the club hasn't looked back since.
Camelford RFC immediately stated its intention to be the first choice for players and supporters of all ages — and both sexes — in the town and surrounding areas.
A new club for North Cornwall was born.
