Twelve teams assembled at Lux Park, home of Liskeard-Looe RFC, on Sunday to take part in the Cornwall Rugby Football Union U14 rugby sevens championships.
Teams from Penzance-Newlyn and Helston made the trip up the county to join teams from Launceston, Wadebridge and Saltash.
Teams were drawn into two leagues of six teams in which they all played everyone in their league.
The top two teams of each league then went through to the semi-finals with the teams finishing third and fourth going through to the Plate semi-finals.
Liskeard-Looe U14s kicked off proceedings on the main pitch with a closely-fought contest against Saltash. Saltash came out on top with a 15-10 victory.
The semi-finals of the cup saw Redruth drawn against Helston and Launceston against a combined Lankelly/Fowey-Perranporth side.
Redruth beat Helston to set up a cup final against Launceston after they beat the Lankelly/Fowey-Perranporth side.
The winners of the plate were Penzance-Newlyn who beat a spirited St Austell side in the final.
The cup final was a quality match with two talented sides that had drawn against each other in the group stages.
Launceston's extra pace showed in the final and their defence held strong against a Redruth team that has already won the county 15-aside version of the game.
Trophies were presented at the end of the tournament by Tony Knightsbridge, of the Cornwall Mini Juniors, and Mark Goldsmith, the event organiser.
Liskeard-Looe RFC would like to thank Simon Terry, of Continental Rruits, Alex McKay of the Albion pub, Jason Parker, Morrisons and Trago Mills for sponsoring the event. Special thanks to all the parents and helpers from Liskeard-Looe who helped out and made the event so special.
