LAUNCESTON have named their team for tonight’s pre-season friendly with National League Two West outfit Redruth at Polson Bridge (7.30pm).

It is the All Blacks’ first outing of the season following last week’s cancellation against Bideford with the North Devon side being unable to raise a side.

Launceston name a 25-man squad for the game which sees three signings make their debut.

The pack has a familiar look to it with props Mitch Hawken and Alex Bartlett getting the nod over Ethan Pearce-Cowley and Charlie Short, while Tom Bottoms partners Dan Goldsmith at lock following the departure of Albert Horne who has moved back home.

The back row consists of Charlie Tummon, former captain Lloyd Duke and vice-captain Brandon Rowley, the latter at number eight.

Scrum-half George Hillson’s move from Tavistock to Polson Bridge is the most eye-catching arrival of the summer, and he will hope to strike up a partnership with captain Tom Sandercock who will play at ten.

On the wings, powerhouse Zerran Hammond gets a chance following his move from Bude, while Ollie Bebbington is on the other side with Dan Pearce still yet to fully recover from a knee injury picked up in January.

Last year’s player of the season Cam Fogden is staying and lines up at centre alongside Argentinian newcomer Jose Luis Juarez.

The diminutive playmaker, who has played in the second tier in his homeland, has moved to Bude with his partner and has made a big impact at training despite his limited English.

He will hope to dovetail with full-back James Tucker who will look to patrol the back of the field.

Other newcomers - Seb Cox, Dom Ellery and Cohen Larson - will hope to make a big impact off the bench.
