MEMBERS of Launceston Road Runners and Bude RATs competed in the Boconnoc 5 on Wednesday, May 1, the sixth race of the 2023/24 Cornwall Multi-Terrain Race Series.
Eight from Launceston plus Jeremy Brown, Suzanne Brown and Stephen Hutchinson headed to the picturesque estate in South East Cornwall.
The five-mile race which is organised by East Cornwall Harriers in partnership with the Boconnoc Estate, takes in unmade paths, woodland trails and some road sections through the estate.
Bude’s fastest runner was Jeremy Brown in 39 minutes and eight seconds, which was 40th out of the 310 finishers.
Stephen Hutchinson was third in the M70-74 category with his time of 49:55, while Jeremy’s wife Suzanne also finished in 57:28.
Launceston’s Joe Thomson was in inspired form, crossing the line in 34:05 for a 12th-placed finish, 35 seconds away from a top-ten spot.
