BUDE RATs member Stephen Hutchinson made the long trip down to West Cornwall on Sunday, September 29 to take part in the Marazion 10K and was rewarded with a second-placed finish in the M70-74 age group.

Stephen’s time of 53:28 was enough to finish 205thout of the 481 entrants.

While no other Bude runners made the 140-mile round trip, three Launceston Road Runners headed down the A30 for the 13thrace out of 14 in the 2024 Cornwall Grand Prix Series which was superbly organised by Hayle Runners.

Kevin Marshall finished in 46:40 for fourth in the M60-64 age group, while Ian Grimes (1:01:03) and Janet Lathom also ran, Janet’s time of 1:02:47 enough for second in the F65-69 section.

Ian missed out on third in the M70-74 category by just one second to Truro Running Club’s Christopher Ramsey.

Jonathan Allen of Launceston Leisure Centre also competed and was home in 1:04:55.
