CINDERFORD hosted a Forest Select side as part of the club preparations for the new season.

After two training sessions this was the home side's first game and included a number of trialists.

The evening at The Causeway also included presentations to Cinderford youth sides to mark success last season.

Some 350 people turned out to see the game and the evening also raised around £500 for local hospitals.

The scoring was opened by Cinderford George Lloyd who lobbed Steve Bowles but the match was squared when Ross Gabriel scored.

Town vice-chairman said: "It was a good run-out but it is very early days."

Cinderford's Southern League division one season starts on August 8 but the fixture list has not yet been produced.
