HOLSWORTHY’S men were at it again earlier this month, competing in the Devon County Palairet Plate, with the competition taking place at a magnificent looking Tiverton Golf Club, that was playing at its very best. Holsworthy were defending the Plate they won in 2023 and the team consisting of Ian Kirby, Ed Roberts, Ian French, Trevor Abbot, Paddy Ford and John Bewes, did not disappoint, winning by four clear points ahead of Exeter in second place and Teignmouth in third.

More locally, The Dickerson’s Cup as played, an individual stableford round, for one of the oldest trophies in the club.

The scores were tight at the top, with the course proving tough for most.

Third place went to Mike Lake with 35 points, second to Gary Bridle with 36 points, but clinching the cup by a single point was Tony Richardson, pictured being presented with the cup by men’s captain, Mark Brumham.
