HALWILL rounded off an encouraging second half to the season with a narrow defeat against the Uni who gave up home advantage for the game.
Halwill have been much improved since Christmas following the returns of Luke Potter and Jason Winser amongst others, and although they were beaten by the uni, can look forward to pushing on from their mid-table finish next year.
WOMEN’S FOOTBALL ROUND-UP
CORNWALL WOMEN’S LEAGUE
BUDE Town will need to win their final two games to avoid finishing bottom of the table despite not playing at the weekend.
They are now five points behind second bottom Penryn after they beat mid-table St Dennis 1-0.
In Division Two, Callington Town were beaten on their travels as they lost 2-1 at Wendron United, a match played on the 3G at Hayle due to the Cornwall Intermediate and Senior cup finals at the Dron’s home ground.
Callington’s goalscorer was Kirsty Hughes.
DEVON WOMEN’S LEAGUE
PREMIER Division Bradworthy were given a home walkover by Budleigh Salterton ahead of their League Cup final tomorrow night with Honiton Town at Crediton (7.15pm kick-off).
Halwill are back in action in the North/East Division this evening when they visit Hemyock (7.15pm).
