By Mark Brumham, outgoing Holsworthy Golf Club captain

HOLSWORTHY Golf club has ended a difficult year in style, with presentations at the end of it’s AGM, as Mark Brumham handed over the reins to incoming captain, Pete Isaac.

Mark provided a summary of 2024, saying that it had been a difficult year, following the sudden passing of one of the owners, Mike Bridgman, who was a larger than life character and kingpin in the success of Holsworthy Golf Club.

He will be missed by members, guests, golfers, Rotary and many friends. Our thoughts remain with his family, during a difficult time.

As a mark of respect, many competitions were cancelled until after Mike’s funeral in October, but thankfully with a break in the weather we were able to complete all the competitions before the weather turned again, something we know Mike would have appreciated.

We were therefore able to celebrate individual and team successes to close the 2024 golfing season which included the following winners:

In other news, Holsworthy Golf club was acquired 10 years ago, with the three remaining partners being responsible for turning the club around and making it a popular venue, not just for golf but for its Sunday lunches, bingo nights and entertainment evenings.

It was announced this year, that the current owners would now look to sell the successful business, so the club and its captains would like to wish them every success with a sale, and look forward to what 2025 has to hold.
