TINTAGEL Youth Football Club hosted their annual Presentation Day at their Butts Field home on Saturday, July 9.
With the weather kind, the day went well with a fantastic BBQ keeping everyone nice and full while there was also a raffle, fun challenges and prizes for the fastest recorded kick of the day.
Each team (under11s and under 13s) challenged their adults to a match, and although in both cases the parents proved to be very competitive, the youth players still stole the show.
After the adult’s versus children’s matches, it was an opportunity to present the players with their trophies and medals for the season.
Each player received awards, with separate trophies going to the players voted for by their peers and the supporters.
In the under 11s, Leon Jeskins was the star of the show, winning the Player’s Player award and was also joint Supporter’s Player along with Christopher Lowe.
In the under 13s, the Jeskins’ again starred as Harvey was named the Supporters Player of the Year while Adam Hobbs was the Player’s Player.
Thanks were expressed to Dave Littlejohns for donating the Supporter’s Player of the Year cup’s, while the Player’s Player cups were kindly donated by the Tremain family in memory of Jamie Tremain who loved football and was part of Tintagel Football Club for many years. Ricky Tremain awarded the Player’s Player of the Year trophies, which will be handed back at the end of next season for a new winner to collect. Thanks were also expressed to Boscastle Farm Shop who donated the meat for the BBQ, Julie Keenan and Simon Harrison at Spar, who not only sponsor both team kits but also donated all the rolls, sauces, cheese and napkins for the BBQ, Julian and Petrina Turner for their fabulous BBQ skills, the committee for organising a fantastic day, coaches Ted Lowe, Hugh Lawley, Darren May and Kevin Jeskins for all their work throughout the season, and last but not least all the players and their families for making the day so memorable.
