Cornwall Airport Newquay Duchy League round-up by Mike Newcombe

PREMIER Division leaders Gunnislake slumped to a first defeat of the season going down 1-0 at St Breward.

The home side matched the visitors work-rate and felt they just about deserved the win. The only goal came in the opening ten minutes of the second-half through James Bailee.

Boscastle and Tregrehan Mills shared four goals at Forrabury Park. Rob Heal and Nick Lawson scored for Boscastle with Dean Dingle getting both of the visitors’ goals.

Lifton took the lead at Division One table toppers Foxhole Stars with a free-kick from all of 25 yards from Ryan Hancock. Tyler Cheshire restored parity with a cross shot from the left going in off the post. Cheshire was again the scorer as Foxhole took the lead five minutes into the second-half and after this, they held for a 2-1 win.

FC Tavyside were 2-1 winners over St Minver Reserves. Oliver Gourd scored the hosts first goal with Owen Staples getting the winner.

Boscastle Reserves were 4-3 winners at their Lostwithiel counterparts. The home scorers were Nathan Cummings, Jordan Richards and Callum Chillingworth.

Queens Rangers dominated large parts of their game with Gunnislake Reserves but ended on the wrong end of a 2-1 score line. The hosts were well on top in the first-half without creating really good chances. Two minutes before the break a slip by a home defender was capitalised by Gunnislake to open the scoring.

The second-half followed a similar pattern with the visitors doubling the lead. Sam Rowse pulled a goal back for Rangers with virtually the last kick of the game.

St Ann’s Chapel picked up a first win of the season in Division Three with a 2-0 win over Delabole United. Adam Savage and Dan Cribbett were the home scorers.

Tintagel are back in the running in Group G of the Knockout Cup after their 3-1 win at home to Pensilva. Adam Price scored a brace with Harry Page adding the other home goal. Liam Donaghy scored the Pensilva goal.

Stoke Climsland travelled to Gorran top of Group E but only with ten players available. Their troubles continued as they had a player sent off late in the second-half as they were suffering a crushing 10-1 defeat to open up the group. Tom Guest scored four goals with Ryan Parker adding a brace. Their scoring was completed by Parker Ives-Cabie, Sam Rowe, Lewis Reeves ad Andrew Whatty. Stoke replied with a Josh Pope consolation.

Bude Town Reserves are assured of a home draw in the last 16 of the Shoe Boy League Cup after goals from Steve Box, Ryan Leverton and Lucas Nunes gave them a 3-0 home win over Calstock.

Its still all to play for in Group F after North Petherwin Reserves and Lifton Reserves drew 4-4 at Petherwin Park. Mada Lin Boss, Adam Daw, Jay Carrigan-Webber and Kieran Lane scored for Petherwin with Liam Rich hitting a hat-trick and an Alex Sandercock goal replying for Lifton.
