BUDEHAVEN Community School pupil, Jack Seedhouse, has signed a contract with Exeter City Academy.
The 11-year-old, who comes from Hartland and attended Woolsery Primary School, was offered a place at the Exeter City Advanced Development Centre in 2012, which was based in Barnstaple and managed by Dave Langford, before joining Morwenstow Youth Football Club at the age of seven.
In 2015, after a successful trial, the midfielder was offered a place at Exeter City’s Performance Centre after being recommended by Dave Langford and the other coaches at the North Devon Advanced Development Centre.
Jack trained once a week in Exeter during his time in the performance centre, and during that time earned three trials with the club’s academy.
However at the fourth time of asking, he was awarded a contract with the academy in February and is now part of their under 12s team.
They train during the week at Cliff Hill training ground and play matches on Sundays.
So far, Jack has taken on the likes of Crystal Palace, Reading, Plymouth Argyle and Bournemouth.
Jack has also been grateful to have received sponsorship from Colwills Garage, who are based in Bude and Hartland, as without it, it would be much harder for him to attend all the training sessions and matches.
Over the Easter holidays, Jack will fly out to Stockholm with Exeter City to play against three of the top academy teams from Sweden, train at the National Training Centre in Bosön and do some sightseeing.
