SWPL PREMIER WEST (TUESDAY)
Camelford 4 Launceston 0
LOCAL bragging rights were retained by Camelford when the Clarets travelled to Trefrew Park on Tuesday and went down 4-0.
The game burst into life when, after a featureless opening, the home side took a 12th minute lead.
Mark Gusterson broke into the penalty area from the left before hitting a fierce cross-shot beyond Clarets keeper Lewis Slade and into the far top corner.
Kenan Nicholas posed a threat for Camelford on the left, but was generally kept under control by Josh Harris.
For Launceston, Andy Watkins went close with a glancing header that flew narrowly wide, but a weakened Clarets side struggled to make much impression in attack, leaving home keeper Josh Colwill largely untroubled.
Launceston needed to open the second half well but instead fell 2-0 behind within seconds of the restart.
A long-range effort from man of the match Gusterson flew into the top corner with Slade powerless to intervene.
Camelford were generally comfortable in possession although Ollie Northam caused a few problems on the left.
Adam Sleep saw a long-range effort well saved, but Gusterson ensured the points stayed at home when he added a third goal, and completed a fine hat-trick, after 76 minutes.
Having made a series of substitutions, Launceston lost shape and, following defensive uncertainty, Nicholas ran through unchallenged to add a fourth goal in the 87th minute.
