NINE year old Josh Kingdon from Launceston has recently been awarded the Manager’s Player Award for his contribution to Arsenal Devon’s U10s team during the 2015/16 season.
Josh, who attends Lewannick Primary School, received his trophy at an end of Season awards afternoon in Newton Abbot following a busy and successful season of football.
Following trials in the Spring last year, Josh was selected to represent Arsenal Devon’s advance squad, playing in the Junior Premier League.
The season has seen Josh travel throughout the South West with some journeys as far Swindon and this Saturday, May 14, he will be traveling with his team to play in the Junior Premier League Cup Final at West Bromwich Albion’s Academy ground in Birmingham.
On receiving his award Josh was recognised for his committed and dedicated attitude as well as demonstrating great leadership qualities.
Josh told the Post: “I have really enjoyed playing for Arsenal Devon this season and made some really good friends.
“I was really happy to receive the Manager’s Player Award and was really surprised.”
Now nearing the end of the season, Josh can have a well earned rest before training starts again in July.
