SWPL Premier West - Tuesday, April 16
Bodmin Town 0 Holsworthy 1
LEWIS Haxell’s first half strike was enough as the Magpies picked up their first victory of 2024 with a deserved success at Priory Park.
Holsworthy boss gave a debut to teenage right-back Callum Martin who was comfortably the best player on the pitch, and the Magpies created several chances before Haxell sidefooted home from close range after striker Jacob Nosworthy squared the ball across the six-yard box.
At the other end, Ryan Chadwick had to be alert to save with his feet before Haxell shot just wide from the angle of the box.
The second half saw home forward Sam Cox fire over, while sub Gavin Carter had a goal disallowed following a consultation between the officials.
Bodmin pressed late on, but it was the Devonians who took the victory.
