FOURTEEN trampolinists and their coach, Anne Dodds, travelled to Places Leisure Centre in Eastleigh, Hampshire on Saturday, January 19, to compete in the National Schools Zonal trampoline competition, having qualified through from their regional competition last November.

All of the children train with Anne at Launceston Leisure Centre and some of them also train with their club Zero Gravity in Saltash.

The competition consisted of qualifiers from the South, South East, South West and London regions with nearly 500 competitors taking part on the day.

To qualify through to the National Final in March, the trampolinists had to be placed in the top three of their category and age group. Eight of Dodds’ students managed the feat.

Huge thanks to Joanne Vine and Stephi Dodds who gave up their day to judge at this competition and to Tricia Vine for helping me all day on the competition floor.
