West Wales Ladies Bowling Association were celebrating on Sunday after their first win in the Savegar Trophy for over a year! They beat West Glamorgan at Saundersfoot, home club of this year's president Ceris Hewlings. It was a highly competitive match which went right to the last end, with West Wales coming out winners by six shots, 108-102. Top rink went to Gwenda Rees, Penny Brickle, Gemma Amos and Ceris Hewlings. Penny also received her county badge following the game. The afternoon was rounded off with a delicious meal served by club vice-chairlady Diane Rigden and her helpers afterwards, followed by a short sketch by Graham Hughes which almost brought the clubhouse down with laughter! The WWLBA's next Savegar Trophy game is on June 21 when they travel to Bedwellty Park to play Penyglyn, before they entertain Glamorgan at Saundersfoot on July 22.
