Cresselly and Whitland are through to the Semi-finals of the Thomas Scourfield and Sons Harrison-Allen Bowl at the expense of Llangwm and Carew respectively.
In the one off nature of Cup cricket, league positions become irrelevant so it was no real surprise that Whitland defeated Carew by 16 runs.
After all, Whitland had beaten Carew to win the Harrison-Allen Bowl final for the first time in 2012 in their first ever appearance in a Bowl final.
Batting first at Carew the visitors scored 153-8. Scott Newton scored 33, Paul Davies 30, Matthew Davies 26 and Iestyn Scourfield 22.
For Carew, Shaun Whitfield took 3-31 and wrist-spinner Ceri Brace 2-41.
Game on or was it?
The early order Carew batsmen were unable to get going to build an innings as wickets fell at regular intervals.
Master craftsman Nick Scourfield batted at number five. As he has done so often over the years, he held the Carew innings together and at the same time kept his eye on the winning target.
Apart from skipper Rhys Davies with 19 the other Carew batsmen were unable to keep runs flowing at the other end in the face of some penetrative Whitland bowling, as Leighton O'Connor took 4-44, Mark Lee 2-39 and Gregg Sleep 2-19.
Nick Scourfield was there at the end, undefeated on 54 in a total of 137-9, but his valiant effort was in vain on this occasion.
In the other Quarter-final at Llangwm it was a far more predictable game, as Cresselly won comfortably by 90 runs after reaching 233-2.
It was an evening to remember for two in form Cresselly batsmen, with two superb centuries from Adam Chandler with exactly 100 not out and Brad McDermott Jenkins with 103.
Jenkins had a man of the match performance as he followed up his batting by taking 5-31 and another young all-rounder Harry Thomas took 3-31 as Llangwm were bowled out for 143.
Will Beresford top scored with 41 and Luke Brock scored 32.
