Bond Timber Cornwall Cricket League Division Two East preview – Saturday, June 8
IN-FORM Werrington Seconds will hope to keep up their good start to the season when they take on Menheniot-Looe at Ladycross tomorrow (1pm).
They had a poor 2023 after relegation from County Division One the year before, but have won three of their four completed matches with the other two being cancelled and abandoned.
They beat both Ladock and Callington Seconds last weekend and will hope to apply the pressure on leaders St Austell Seconds in the coming games.
Skipper Jason Seldon is without key batsman Tom Lyle while seamer Jordan Duke is in the ones, but they are able to bring in bowling all-rounder Darren Webber for his first appearance of the season.
Simon Bishop keeps wicket with Rob Dymond only fit enough to play as a batsman due to a broken finger.
WERRINGTON SECONDS: Rob May, Marley May, Simon Bishop (wkt), Zander Zambuni, Mark Hodgson, Rob Dymond, Darren Webber, Jason Seldon, Ian Worsnip, Ian Searle, Nick Oldaker.

Petherwin’s bowling did the job in dismissing the hosts for a competitive 164 but were spun out by Rory Dixon who took 6-15.
Holsworthy are without seamer Rob Mitchell who is away, while batsman Sam Stacey is in the seconds.
Scott Bingham is rewarded for his 60 in the seconds with a place in the middle order where he is joined by skipper Ryan Walter who returns after a wedding.

ST MINVER are enjoying a fine start to the season and welcome St Austell Seconds in a top-of-the-table clash.
They sit ten points behind having played a game more, but a victory will pile the pressure on the Saints.
They are without all-rounder Rob Hawken and the in-form Ryan Pooley with their places going to Steve Hawke and Paul Marshall.
ST MINVER: Ben Hawken (wkt), Antony Ash, Jonny Centini, Steve Hawke, Alek Gill (capt), Reece Thompson, Kelvin Lockwood, Kieran Gill, Dean Jeffery, Jack Gill, Paul Marshall.
TINTAGEL are already 21 points behind second bottom Menheniot-Looe ahead of tomorrow’s visit from mid-table St Blazey.
The Knights weren’t far off winning at Lanhydrock last Saturday, only losing by nine runs, and although an understrength side were thrashed at Bude on Sunday, they then beat the same opposition in the Division Two T20 Cup last night.
Skipper Matt Jolliffe has a decent team to choose from and will hope to utilise home advantage.
TINTAGEL: Akobe Earle, Dan Jones, Jordan Burnard, Matt Jolliffe (capt), Adrian Pooley, Gyles Reynolds, Sam Abbott (wkt), Callum Flew, Simon Fry, James Ellis, Rocco Reynolds.
BUDE and Ladock are nicely in mid-table and meet at Crooklets.
