NATIONAL LEAGUE TWO WEST

Dings Crusaders 109 Camborne 0

CAMBORNE suffered a heavy final day defeat in Bristol on Saturday as champions Dings Crusaders rounded off the season in style at Shaftesbury Park.

A lengthy list of injuries and unavailability did not help the Cherry & Whites but the team that travelled battled resolutely throughout against a classy home side that ended the season seven points clear of runners-up Luctonians.

Although the result was hugely disappointing ‘Town’ can look back with a good deal of satisfaction over a season that sees them finish in a very creditable 6th spot in their first year back in the National Leagues with 13 wins and a draw from their 26 outings.

Four touchdowns in the opening quarter saw Dings bag the try bonus point and the game was over as a contest by half-time as the home side pulled 52-0 clear.

On the day Ben Priddey was unable to add to his remarkable 31-try tally having started on the bench due to a recent injury. This total sees the popular hooker finish as the top points scorer in National Two West.

Despite their best defensive efforts Camborne could not stem the flow in the second period as the home side, who saw Jake Holcombe, Soloman Taufa and Ezra Caven notch hat-tricks, continued to run in the points in front of their large crowd.

At the end of the match the Cherry and Whites remained on the pitch to applaud worthy champions Dings as the National League Two West trophy was presented.
