BUDE Town bounced back from their Torridge Cup defeat last Wednesday evening at Holsworthy by winning 5-0 at Launceston last night in SWPL Premier West.
The Seasiders won the reverse fixture 6-0 and despite the Clarets putting in a much-improved display at times which saw them create chances, Town’s clinical performance got the job done.
Goals from Harry Hopcroft and River Allen put them 2-0 up inside 16 minutes before Jake Williams’ far post header made it three at the break.
The game was put to bed five minutes into the second half when Kieran Parkin slotted home a penalty, and the fifth arrived 13 minutes before the end through Ben Musselwhite.
See next week’s Post for a full report on the game.
Both sides are in action on Saturday with Bude welcoming Dobwalls (3pm), while the Clarets entertain Penzance (3pm).
The other scheduled match in the division last night between Callington Town and Holsworthy was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch following a 4pm pitch inspection.
