DUNHEVED Bowling Club recently held their presentation of trophies and annual lunch for the first time in the clubhouse.
Outside caterers provided plenty of food for the 46 attending, although numbers were a little down this year due to illness.
President Graham Davey welcomed everyone and guests from Kensey Vale Bowling Club, Alex and Tina Crichton.
After an excellent meal, Graham kept everyone amused in his usual way, which included a poem that incorporated the green team names. This was well applauded.
Graham thanked all involved in the preparation of the club and barman Clifford Downs, and competition secretary Peter Prynne, who presented the trophies alongside Tina Crichton, who was presented with a bouquet of flowers.
The winners of trophies were as follows:
Dunn Cup and Jewry Cup (Four Wood Singles) — Colin Fishleigh; Baker Cup (Two Wood Singles) — Paul Wilson; Fry Cup (Men’s Pairs) — Arthur Fry/Colin Fishleigh; Charity Cup — Brian Harris and Phil Piper; John Moir Salver — Graham Davey; Claude Davey Trophy (Friday night men’s winner) — Ron Gribble; Kivell Cup (Ladies Two Wood Singles) and Saker Trophy — Judith Prynne; Maddever Cup and Weighell Cup — Claire Fishleigh; Bate Trophy (Ladies Pairs) — Gwen Ruby and Angela Wooldridge; Friday night ladies winner — Gwen Ruby.
