ST Luke’s Hospice has praised the ‘incredible’ support it has received from Callington Young Farmers’ Club, in memory of a special young lady who stole the hearts of their community.

The club has handed over a cheque for £1,000 to St Luke’s — club leader Martin Webb said the charity is very close to hearts of the YFC and the town.

He said: “A popular local girl named Chloe Hunn sadly passed away from breast cancer and one of our member’s mum also sadly passed away from a rare form of cancer too.”

The cheque was presented to Chloe’s mother, Claire, who received the cheque on behalf of St Luke’s.

Community fundraiser at St Luke’s Hospice Plymouth, Pete Ward, said: “A heartfelt thank you to everyone at Callington Young Farmers for your generous support. It is so inspiring to see how the legacy of a single person can motivate and pull together the community to celebrate a life and raise vital funds to help others who need the specialist care from our charity. It’s a glowing example of how St Luke’s care is more than just the city of Plymouth and the difference our care makes to families in East Cornwall. Thank you.”
