THE lost worksplates of a 1901 steam locomotive, which was decommissioned and abandoned in 1942 have been found.
The locomotive Dorothea had been left in a store shed, which had fallen into ruins around her when found, with some parts taken to restore other locomotives.
In 1989, Dorothea, was bought by Launceston Steam Railway's Kay Bowman, who restored her to former glory in 2011 and now runs her along the town's tracks.
As much as possible of the original locomotive was kept, but understandably, the brass nameplates, workplates and fittings had long since gone, and replicas had to be made.
Imagine the excitement then when a telephone call was received from a gentleman in South Wales.
