A company based in Launceston visited the home of the Prime Minister last week as part of a national business event.
CEO and owner Colin Spencer Halsey was invited to represent The Natural Fibre Company, a specialist woollen mill, at a Department for Business and Trade manufacturing matchmaking event held on Wednesday, April 17.
The industry event, introducing British fashion and retail businesses to UK-based manufacturers, was hosted at No.10 Downing Street by the Prime Minister’s wife, Akshata Murty, and was organised by Libby Hart, founder of British womenswear brand, Libby of London and Anya Hindmarch of namesake luxury accessories brand ‘Anya Hindmarch’.
Discussing the event, Colin said: “I was very proud to represent The Natural Fibre Company at the Department of Business and Trade event. It was a unique opportunity for British manufacturers to meet premium retailers from the UK Fashion Industry. For The Natural Fibre Company, it provided us with a platform to meet potential new clients and to meet up with existing clients within the centre of government.”
Colin also got the opportunity to showcase the quality of the yarns and the range of manufactured products using 100 per cent British wool, as well as research and development prototypes made with recycled materials.
