PEOPLE from across the region are being invited to join in with one of a number of charity lunches being held at The Horn of Plenty at Gulworthy this winter.

The hotel has hosted these lunches for nearly 25 years and the last five years have been dedicated to Macmillan Cancer Support at Derriford — so far raising £36,800 for Macmillan thanks to the generosity of guests.

Those who attend these charity lunches will enjoy fine dining in beautiful surroundings at the famous restaurant. After the meal the diners are invited to make a donation to Macmillan Cancer Support, which will directly help people affected by cancer.

The charity lunches run everyday from Monday, January 9, to Friday, March 24, apart from Sundays and Valentines Day, February 14.

Julie Leivers and Damien Pease have been running the hotel since 2010 and chose Macmillan as their charity. Julie said: “We all know people who have been affected by cancer and so the work Macmillan is really close to all our hearts. We know that the funds raised are making a real difference to local people affected by cancer.”

Local fundraising manager for Macmillan, Sian Ward-Edwards, said: “We are so grateful to the team at The Horn of Plenty for their continued support and for the generosity of their guests. Their contributions help us develop new services to support local people affected by cancer.”
