TWO pupils from Windmill Hill Academy, Launceston have recently become young authors.
Leon Harvey, from Year 3, and Jack Mullen, from Year 4, have been part of a book making project in conjunction with the Cornwall Dyslexia Service for the past nine months.
The book-writing project continues in many schools throughout Cornwall, allowing others to take part in a similar way to create a collection of stories and books, which are then published and made available to young people.
The books cover a wide range of interests, which are also local to the area where they live.
Both boys each had a team of fellow students to help with ideas, drawings, writing and research.
Both boys chose a topic they were interested in and were supported by teaching assistant Judy Williams to put the ideas into a book.
The books were then published before being launched at a celebration assembly on Friday, July 15, in the school hall.
Later in the day the boys were on hand to sign their book for anyone who purchased a copy at the summer fayre.
