NEARLY 100 Women's Institute members from across Hampshire attended a lunch at Bordon's Forest Community Centre to celebrate the centenary of the organisation.

At the event, on June 4, Yvonne Kilburn cut the celebratory cake, and members and helpers toasted the 100-year history of the Women's Institute.

The movement was founded in 1915 in Anglesey, in Wales, to revitalise rural communities and to encourage women to become more involved in producing food during the First World War.
