June was another busy month for our choir (wwrites R.M.). We began the month by singing at the Ridgeway Residential Home in Llawaden where we entertained the ladies and gentlemen of the home.

Our soloists for this concert were young Cian Bowen, son of Steve, one of our top tenors, and Rob and Phil from the second tenor section.

Two days later we were at Llanddewi Village Hall in support of Mr. Peter Karrie, who is touring Wales as part of his 're-generation of Village Halls' tour.

Also appearing was the school choir from Tavernspite who sang various songs with Mr. Karrie. The children were a real credit to their school and to the staff who work with them.

The following weekend saw us at the 'Jabajac' Hotel in Llanboidy where we entertained guests attending a wedding blessing which took place outside in the lovely gardens of the hotel. It was a very hot afternoon, but the choir managed to find shade under a broad-limbed tree in the garden. No shade for our musical director Juliet, however, who stood out in the blazing sun while the choir sang.

Our final appearance last month was at Picton Castle in Rhos where we entertained visitors to our county from the USA and beyond.

They were passengers on a cruise ship docked at Fishguard Harbour, and their visit to Picton Castle was in order for them to visit the beautiful building and grounds of Picton, and then to hear a Welsh Male Choir while enjoying refreshments offered by the staff of the castle.

This visit was a great success for both the castle and the choir. In fact, a few of the Americans were heard to say the afternoon was the highlight of their cruise so far.

We have three more concerts in July before taking a well-earned rest for the month of August.
